What is this egg, you ask?

~Backstory~
Sesshomaru's Lady Mother decided to deliver a strange egg to his son. But before Sesshomaru can ask what the hell was the egg for and why she gave it to him, she left.
He was about to throw the egg away, (or throw it at Jaken for being annoying, as usual), when Rin stopped him with her teary eyes. There might be a baby inside, Lord Sesshomaru!" She says.
Upon closer inspection, a strange sound can be heard inside...Was that a bark or a cry? The fluff underneath the egg was also not detachable. The egg was also very, VERY warm.

Confounded by the strange egg since Inu demons are technically mammals, and also because Rin wouldn't let him harm the egg, Sesshomaru decided to keep it until it hatches. And with this, the egg became the fifth member of Sesshomaru's travelling companions (Aside from Rin, Jaken, Ah and Un).


Rules How to claim the egg
I'll be asking ONE multiple-choice questions randomly, one question at a certain day, a total of 5 questions for the duration of the month until April 27, when the egg hatches.
Whoever get most of the questions correct out of five questions will win the egg and whatever hatches from it! Pay CLOSE attention to the background story that I wrote, because THAT will help you answer the questions I'll be asking.
(If there's more than one winner in the end, a tie breaker (or a random drawing xD) will be initiated to select the winner!

With that being said, here's the first QUESTION! GOODLUCK!

QUESTION 1

There was a storm brewing, and Sesshomaru decided to stay in a cave with his group until the storm passes. Few minutes later, a faint crying sound can be heard from inside the egg. What should Sesshoumaru do??
A. Make Rin hold it.
B. Throw it in the fire
C. Wrap it in a blanket
D. Abandon his manliness and cuddle the cute egg.

APRIL 11, 2014

The answers were narrowed into two. The question was pretty tough. 11 people got it right and 11 people got it wrong!
What sorcery is this?!  lol Anyway, read on below on what's the answer....


The sound of wind and storm echoed in the cave. Sesshomaru sat on the cave's marble floor while leaning against the wall, a knee propped up. Rin, Jaken and Ah-Un slept soundly near the gentle fire providing them with heat and light. Suddenly, a muffled crying sound came out from the egg Sesshomaru left in the corner. He bristled in mild annoyance.
The egg obviously needed to be kept warm.
A random thought of Jaken sitting on the egg like a chicken occured to him before he was distracted by the crying egg again.
Sesshoumaru SHOULD cover the thing with a blanket, but couldn't stand the thought of doing it himself.
"Rin."
The girl instantly woke up. "Yes, milord?"
"Cover the egg with a blanket."
She blinked in confusion until she heard the egg's muffled cry. She smiled widely. "Awwww. Right away, milord!" And she quickly grabbed a blanket from Ah-Un's saddle and wrapped the egg in a blanket.

Aha! so the answer is C!
I hope the hint from the background story["The egg was also very, VERY warm."]  helped. So the answer should be along the line of keeping the egg warm from the cold, stormy weather!
The question was "What SHOULD Sesshomaru do?" The key here was to analyze the question carefully to get the right answer. "SHOULD" opens up the option of either Rin warming the egg or using the blanket. Most of those who answered "A" were thinking about how to keep Sesshomaru in character (which is a REALLY good thing btw for the next question). Rin can hold and try to make the egg warm by cuddling it with her and going to sleep, but risk breaking it if she rolls over it while she's asleep! Egg Safety first!

QUESTION 2

Sesshomaru and his group were travelling along a path. He glared at the egg that he ended up HAVING to carry because according to Totosai, it needs to be held closely by somebody with strong demonic aura to survive. It was how demon eggs feed so as to not starve to death before they hatch. Jaken and Ah-Un both have pitiful demonic aura and was not compatible with the egg. Rin wouldn't let him abandon the troublesome egg, and he ended up with the embarassing task to be the egg's sitter. Suddenly, a huge snake demon appeared! It wanted to eat the egg! EEEKKK!
Jaken and Rin ran away in fear to get away from the demon, while Sesshomaru glared at the enemy.
Assuming that Sesshomaru CANT attack and kill the snake while holding the egg, what is Sesshomaru going to do FIRST in order to protect the egg and kill the enemy?
A. Toss the egg high up in the air.
B. Toss the egg towards Rin hoping she catches it.
C. Toss the egg towards Jaken hoping he catches it.
D. Toss the egg towards Ah-Un hoping they grow hands and catches it.

APRIL 17, 2014 UPDATE

As the snake was poised to attack, Sesshomaru tossed the egg high up in the sky. The demon snake followed it with its hungry eyes, its tongue lashing out.
Sesshomaru gracefully leaped up and severed the head of the distracted snake using his poison whip.
"EEKKK!!! The egg! THE EGG!!" Rin squealed, pointing at the falling egg.
Sesshomaru easily caught the egg on his mokomoko before he landed on the ground.
"You are absolutely brilliant, my Lord!" Jaken squawked.
"You're so dashing, Lord Sesshomaru!" Rin cheered. _{Did those lines sound familiar? Hm I wonder what episode they're from lol.}


So Q2 answer is A!!! Wohoo!

D) Glare at Rin and scold her for asking such a mundane question.

April 22, 2014 UPDATE

I have bad news. I think. The design for my egg was stolen here by pikachurules
was also a victim as well .  I must thank for noting me about the art theft and letting me know. I hope this isn't a big deal, but it might become an issue because after all, this egg and the surprise inside will belong to ONE OF YOU who joined this event. If you have any concerns, please let me know.

Anyway, onto the event!

Rin, I wouldn't know about the history of human livestocks, but answering from a perspective of a demon, I would say that the demon came first before the egg. Think about what Totosai had said. This demon egg would not survive without a demon to feed it demon energy passively.
Rin brightened up. "Oh I see! So of course the demon came first before the egg so it can protect and raise the egg! So the chicken came first! But... where did the first demon came from if not an egg?
Sesshomaru looked away. "Demon history would confuse you."
Rin waited patiently but her Lord had stopped talking.
"Thank you for answering me, My Lord!" She chirped before going to sleep.

So the answer is.... C! The chicken! LOL Oh my, only two people got it right!


When confused, dont hesitate to look back at the previous questions and the mini-stories with it to help you find the answer! Question2 gave it away! XD

Here's the next question; I dropped a hint so I hope it helps! #4 is more like a guessing game. At this point, anything, I mean ANYTHING can happen! _{Like the egg is close to hatching. lol}

Sesshomaru coincidentally ran into Inuyasha's group! Inuyasha stared at the egg in confusion then began laughing. "What Sesshomaru, you a freaking Hen now? Whats up with the fancy looking giant egg?" What will Sesshomaru do?
A) Punch the hanyou in the face
B) Confuse the hanyou with big words.
C) Call him out on a duel.
D) Throw the egg at him.

_{Hint: Even the most unlikely answer CAN be the answer in this one. Think carefully.}

April 26, 2014 UPDATE

In his irritation, he threw the egg at the laughing hanyou.Rin and Jaken gasped.

Inuyasha caught the egg in surpise.

 "You can have it." Sesshomaru declared, turning his back on him.

 "WHAT?!" Inuyasha, Rin and Jaken yelled.

 At that same moment, the egg began squirming as Inuyasha held it! A small crack formed at the top.

 "Inuyasha! It's hatching!" Kagome exclaimed excitedly.

 Rin ran towards them in excitement.

 Sesshomaru stopped dead in his tracks, silently admitting what he was curious as to what was inside that wretched egg.

 

So the answer is..... D!!

Were running a bit behind schedule with the egg lol. Anyway, HE/SHE IS READY!!

 To explain the answer from Q5, I'll just quote the first person who got BOTH the answer and rationale behind the answer correct! Really, her detective skills is awesome! XD

As for the final question... my answer is... b.
This is because the four elements of the egg's personality are linked to the four tasks Sesshomaru faced while caring for it.

Warm - Question one where the answer was that the egg was wrapped in a blanket because it needed to be kept warm.
Trusting - Question two where the others had to trust lord sesshomaru when he threw the egg into the air to fool the snake.
_{Destiny's note: (Or the egg had to trust Sesshomaru that he's going to catch it xD.)}
Witty - Question three where Sesshomaru showed his witts in the question of hatching from a demon perspective
Short Tempered - Question four where Sesshomaru lost his temper with Inuyasha.

"A head popped out from the egg. It looked at Inuyasha, then cried in obvious dislike of the Hanyou. Kagome and Rin went "awwwww." The egg shell fell apart completely, revealing a tiny, child demoness who was strangely dressed. It looked at Sesshomaru who was standing a few feet away from them with an unreadable expression on his face. MAY 1, 2014 UPDATE

The tie breaker was a tough round; but the three were able to produce such awesome short paragraph! It was hard to decide, so I flipped a coin between Twisted-Pretzels and bluesoul1 XD

And now... onto the closing part of the story for this event. I will start from the winner's entry and continue it to the ending. x3


Sesshomaru wondered what use he had for this little thing, and why did he even protect it to its hatching anyway?  If he abandoned her now, he would have done that for nothing.  And the great Lord Sesshomaru doesn't do something without a purpose.  He stared at the baby demoness, thinking she had the same warm, trusting smile Rin had.  He liked Rin's smile.  Keeping her around for even just a while wouldn't be a particular nuisance, he decided.  "Come, Rin, Jakken, Natsu," he called after them, casually naming his newest companion.  Natsu smiled, apparently liking it. -Twisted-Pretzels

However before they could leave, a lightning bolt struck the ground near them.
"What the fu-?!" Inuyasha exclaimed, shaking off the dust.
The fog of dirt cleared up, and Sesshomaru's mother appeared. "Just hold that thought, Sesshomaru. You think I'll just let you take her as you please?" She crossed her arms, her mokomoko moving with the wind.
"You gave me that egg, mother." He muttered irately. Natsu had gracefully leapt from Inuyasha's grubby hands into the ground and walked towards Sesshomaru. She wobbled slightly.
She raised an eyebrow. She didn't expect that her son would want to keep what was inside the egg. "Well, I suppose you can keep her with you, as long as you take care of her. And train her. That child is your older sister."
Sesshomaru's eyes widened slightly while the others had confused expressions.
"This child... is my older sister?" He asked.
"InuTaisho and I had that egg before you. And even before that hanyou. The egg was dormant and didn't hatch for centuries. It did not react to Inutaisho and my demonic aura. However, she seemed to have taken a liking to her brother." She turned around, assumed her dog form and left.
"Dog demons can have eggs?" Kagome whispered to Inuyasha.
He shrugged his shoulders. "Didn't know that either."
Sesshomaru stared at the small child, still shocked. An older sister? Why the hell did his mother never mentioned about this egg as he grew up?
"You're so cute!!! You're Sesshomaru and Inuyasha's onee-san!!" Rin exclaimed, embracing the child.
Jaken, still dazed from the surprise, shook his head. "Rin! Don't treat her like that!"
Sesshomaru took a deep breath. "Let's go." He grumbled, walking away. He needs time to contemplate how to deal with the unexpected surprise.
